About this Mod
Solstice: Dynamic Seasons - The Living World Simulation
Have you ever felt like your Minecraft world is frozen in time? Solstice: Dynamic Seasons changes that forever.
Solstice is a comprehensive seasonal simulation for Fabric that transforms your world into a living, breathing ecosystem. Unlike simple texture swaps, Solstice introduces a deep, persistent year cycle that affects everything from the length of the day to the behavior of the villagers. Whether you are hunkering down for a long winter or planning a summer harvest, Solstice makes every day in your world feel meaningful.
📅 The 14-Season Year
Forget the basic four seasons. Solstice features a fluid 14-step seasonal cycle. You will experience early, mid, and late phases of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, plus two dedicated Rainy seasons.
☀️ Shifting Daylight & Weather
The sun and moon no longer follow a static path. Solstice adjusts the ratio of day to night over the year Summer days are long and productive, while Winter nights are long and dangerous.
Seasonal Weather: The mod overrides vanilla weather to create realistic patterns.
Monsoon Seasons: Experience forced rainfall and heavy monsoon pulses during the Early and Late Rainy phases.
Atmospheric Thunder: Storm intensity is shaped by the season, making lightning feel deliberate rather than random.
❄️ Intelligent Snow & Ice
Winter in Solstice is global and immersive, but designed to be lag-free.
Hybrid Rendering: The server handles physical snow blocks near the player, while the client renders beautiful, distant winter overlays so the horizon always looks frozen.
Stable Ice: Water freezes into stable ice sheets that won't flicker, and the mod remembers what it placed so it can melt naturally when Spring arrives.
Spring Grace Period: New worlds start with a "grace period," suppressing snow and ice until your first Summer so you can get established.
🌾 Farming & The Greenhouse Mechanic
Agriculture is now a seasonal challenge. Most crops, including sugar cane, bamboo, and sweet berries, have their growth rates boosted or slowed depending on the time of year.
Sapling Families: Different trees have different needs. Tropical jungle saplings grow best in heat, while spruce thrives in the cold.
The Greenhouse: Don't want to wait for Spring? Building a structure with "climate-controlled" blocks (like glass) creates a growth exemption zone, allowing your crops to flourish year-round.

💰 Rotating Trade & Economy
The local economy reflects the time of year. Villagers and Wandering Traders rotate their inventories based on the current season.
Seasonal Pricing: Prices fluctuate based on the biome and climate.
Visual Variety: Even the traders and their llamas change their outfits to match the weather.
💻 Commands & Control
Take total control of your world’s timeline with the built-in command system.
Query the World: Use /solstice to view your current season status and progress.
Force the Future: Admins can force specific seasons or test progression instantly.
Server Sync: All changes are synced from the server to players every 20 ticks, ensuring everyone sees the same world.
🎨 Immersive Visuals & Sounds
Solstice isn't just a mechanic; it’s an atmosphere.
Dynamic Tints: Grass, foliage, water, and even the sky shift colors smoothly as the weeks pass.
Environmental Particles: See blossoms drift in the Spring and fireflies dance in the Summer.
Soundscapes: Includes a custom ambient soundscape and musical "stingers" that announce the arrival of a new season.
🛠️ Compatibility & API
Built for the modern Fabric ecosystem, Solstice includes a Public API for modpack creators and developers.
Developer Hooks: Easily query the current season, subscribe to change events, or register your own blocks for the greenhouse mechanic.
Data-Driven: Most seasonal effects, trade lists, and biome profiles are controlled via JSON for easy customization.
