About this Mod

Some Things Mod

Some Things is a Vanilla+ mod that aims to breathe new life into familiar Minecraft mechanics. The mod does not add new ores or dimensions, but makes existing items and interactions deeper and more logical.

Mod Menu: An in-game configuration menu (default key 'N') allows you to toggle any individual feature on or off to suit your playstyle

Features:

Spoiler

Quality of Life (QoL)

Eternal Anvil: Completely removes the vanilla "Too Expensive" limit when repairing or enchanting.

Fast Leaf Decay: Leaves decay 5x faster when the last log of a tree is broken.

Double Doors: Opening one door automatically opens the adjacent connected door (Shift + Right-Click to open just one).

Faster Ladders: Looking down while descending a ladder significantly increases your descent speed.

Stackable Soups: Soups and stews can now be stacked up to 8 items per slot.

Heavy Recycling: Dropping an anvil onto armor or tools "flattens" them, refunding half of their crafting resources.

Combat, Tools & Armor

Golden Authority: Wearing a full set of Gold Armor makes Piglins neutral, doubles their bartering speed, and slightly increases rare loot chances.

Stealth in Leather: A full set of Leather Armor prevents you from triggering Sculk vibrations while walking.

Light Chainmail: Wearing Chainmail armor grants a bonus to Bow and Crossbow drawing/firing speed.

Precision Shearing: Shears can be enchanted with Fortune to drop more wool from sheep.

Arthropod Scourge: The Bane of Arthropods enchantment allows you to instantly mine and walk through cobwebs.

Thunderstrike: A Trident with Channeling can summon lightning in any weather, provided you are standing in water near an active Conduit.

Tactical Spyglass: Observing an enemy through a spyglass for more than 3 seconds marks them with the Glowing effect.

Combat Torch: Hitting an entity with a torch has a 25% chance to set them on fire.

Useful Snowballs: Thrown snowballs now extinguish fires and apply a Slowness effect to enemies.

Farming & Food

Auto-Planting: Right-clicking a fully grown crop with a hoe instantly harvests and replants the seeds.

Crop Protection: Players wearing Leather Boots will no longer trample farmland by jumping on it.

Flesh Recycling: Rotten Flesh can be smelted on a Campfire or in a Smoker to produce Leather.

Food Buffs: Consuming Cookies, Pumpkin Pies, and Stews now grants minor, temporary buffs.

Rainy Growth: All plants grow 20% faster while it is raining.

Mobs & Animals

Ground Feeding: Cows, pigs, sheep, and chickens can eat their favorite dropped food items from the ground to heal or enter breeding mode.

Scavenger Pigs: Pigs can consume Rotten Flesh and Poisonous Potatoes to breed (does not restore health).

Pack Hunter: Tamed wolves deal bonus damage for every other tamed wolf attacking the same target.

Squid Defense: The ink cloud from a damaged squid applies Blindness (3-5 seconds) to any entity caught inside.

Transportation

Trains: Minecarts can now be chained together by right-clicking them with a Chain.

High-Speed Tracks: Rails placed on top of Gravel allow minecarts to travel significantly faster.

Furnace Carts: Furnace Minecarts now feature a custom GUI with 9 slots for fuel and items.

World & Loot

Biome-Specific Loot: Chest loot generation is now heavily influenced by the biome you are currently in.

Logical Potions: The Potion of Night Vision has a new, alternative crafting recipe using a Glow Ink Sac
