You like animals? You don't wanna kill them? Even in a game? This data pack/mod helps you avoid killing innocent animals in Minecraft.
Books are essential, so you need leather. You can barely obtain leather without killing animals in Minecraft Vanilla.
This data pack/mod makes zombies drop leather, skeletons drop feathers.
Since version 2.0 there are also new recipes for black dye, ink sacs and glow ink sacs.
In version 3.0.0 the crafting recipes have been greatly reworked.
This project contains data packs and (Neo)Forge mods. I recommend to use a data pack instead of a mod because it can be run on Minecraft Vanilla and you don't need a mod loader to use a data pack.
The mod part has switched from Forge to NeoForge.

How to Install Spare the Animals on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set datapack Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (26.2).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Spare the Animals". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.
