About this Mod

VERSION 1.4.2 BETA IS BEING DELAYED UNTIL I CAN GET ITS DEPENDENCY ON MODRINTH. THIS PROJECT IS NOT CANCELLED; EXPECT UPDATE WITHIN 5-7 DAYS.

UPDATE: Modrinth's moderation is going a bit slow and so I'm trying to get my dependency project approved, but until then I can't post the newest versions of this mod. I'm trying to get ahold of a human moderator because their AI isn't doing great, but I understand that there are thousands of projects to review.

Have you ever wanted to play around with Lightsabers in Minecraft?
Do you want an in-depth, lore-accurate Star Wars experience in this blocky sandbox game (coming soon)?
Do you want a mod from a developer with no a lot of skills?
Well, look no further than Spectral's Simple Sabers!
This mod is FAR from complete, but is in development every single day, so make sure to check back for changes.
P.S. The mod is made purely for Forge modloader 1.20.1 at the moment, but hopefully, that will soon change!

Installation & Requirements
Requires Forge 1.20.1
Not compatible with Fabric or Quilt (for now)
No additional dependencies
Works in singleplayer and multiplayer
Make sure you’re using the correct version, or the mod won’t load properly

What This Mod Is and Isn’t (Yet)
What it is right now:
A growing collection of lightsaber parts
A beta‑stage mod focused on items, textures, and early functionality
A foundation for a much larger Star Wars‑inspired crafting system
A work‑in‑progress passion project by a one‑man‑army

What it isn’t yet:
A full combat overhaul
A complete crafting system
A finished lightsaber assembly experience
A fully fleshed‑out Star Wars adventure mod
These features are planned — they just aren’t implemented yet.

WARNING
This mod, as you can probably tell from the title, is in open Beta-Testing. There are a crap-ton of features still missing/in development that I will release sometime. I can't promise that this mod is going to be a whole lotta fun at the moment, because I have yet to add custom crafting recipes and all that, but please try it anyway! Oh, and read on if you want to know what features are coming!

1.4.2 Beta Test: Changes
Added a secret! The secret(s) can be found in the creative tab for the mod and even as naturally generated ores. I'll leave you all guessing as to what they're for, but I will give them a use very soon! Be on the lookout for ver1.5.0 Alpha soon!

1.4.0 Beta Test: Changes
I have worked another day to bring you more Star Wars. Added Green Lightsaber and crystal, as well as recipes to match them. PLUS, MASSIVE TEXTURE OVERHAUL! This update really wasn't tricky, just time-consuming. IMPORTANT NOTE: The mod is now pretty big. Now, I could just leave it as is, but I decided to experiment. I've also made a separate mod that functions as a dependency for this version and above for the foreseeable future. The mod can be found on my profile or on the search bar, and it's called Simplicity. ANOTHER NOTE: Modrinth's moderator team can take a little bit to approve my new project releasing the dependency for 1.4.0 and 1.4.2, so you might not get to try these version immediately, and that's my fault. Sorry!

1.3.3 Beta Test: Changes
Redid some other features and finally added a Beta version of Kyber Crystal Attunement. You now able to craft everything you need to make a lightsaber. In fact, this version is so polished, you could go from nothing to a lightsaber in Survival. KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS STILL AN UNFINISHED BETA TEST OF THE MOD AND THAT EVERYTHING, YES EVERYTHING, IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE EVENTUALLY. What that means is that the crafting recipes that you see in the mod now may very possibly change eventually.

1.3.0 Beta Test: Changes
Finally added some Beta crafting recipes (including adding Kyber Ore and Unrefined Crystals) and refined some pre-existing features. ALSO got frustrated because I spent forever trying to figure out something that was somehow already fixed.

1.0.0 Beta Test: Changes
Added base features.
Took a break.
Got frustrated.
Finally worked out some texture details.
Got the mod ready for release... then accidentally deleted progress :(
Cried.
Redid some things.
The mod works!

Planned features for the future:

Saber Forge Block
Sorta like a crafting table, only it could be an 8x8 grid; this will take a while to code, texture, and develop. Again, this part of the project is, as of now, not started.

Kyber Crystal Ore?
I’m not exactly sure how I want to go about this one. It could just look like regular stone until you mine it, or it could be a rock with a glowing crystal in it. Again, there are supposed to be at least 10 colors of crystal, so texturing 10 different blocks of the same block would take a while. Not started as of now.

Ways to craft Lightsaber Parts
This is definitely a key feature of my mod, but since it’s in BETA at the moment, it would take a LONG TIME to get this particular feature done. For instance, to craft Bronzium Wiring would take Bronzium, in ingot form or otherwise. Obviously, as seen below, the only way to get parts for your saber is from trading, but even that feature is in development. Not started.

New Villager Professions
This feature is one of the few ones actively in development as you read this. (okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit) I plan on having villagers be able to trade saber parts and even crystals if you’re lucky enough! This feature, like all others, is not guaranteed to be added, so don’t get your hopes up too high!

Every. Color. Of. Crystal.
You read that right. I am making a crystal for every crystal color I know of. This is in development right now, because to make a green saber, for instance, you need a green crystal. Duh. This is going to take a wee bit because I have to color every single one in myself, as a one-man-army.

Feedback
Good news: I am completely open to suggestions! However, before you suggest anything, please follow these rules:
Be polite. Pretty self-explanatory.
Keep in mind that there is only one guy working on this project: me. Don't suggest things that take years to make for skillful developers.
I am NOT an advanced modmaker. To be honest, I kinda suck at it. I can do a lot, just please don't suggest multiple features in one suggestion.
Don't request something that isn't related. Again, pretty obvious.
Submit your feedback in the comments!

Known Issues/Bugs
Thankfully, none at the moment ;)
If you discover any, please put it in feedback!

Legal Info
As much as I hate writing this section, it may be necessary, so here we go. First, I did mark my mod as All Rights Reserved, but feel free to make videos on it or put it in a modpack. I'm not going to force you to credit me, but it's kinda a loser move if you don't :)
Second, don't make a mod using what I have built please. That's really all I've got; have fun!
