About this Mod
Sprint Lock is a lightweight, client-side quality-of-life Fabric mod designed to solve one of Minecraft's most persistent minor annoyances: the constant resetting of your Toggle Sprint preference.
In vanilla Minecraft, your Toggle Sprint state is incredibly fragile. The game clears your sprint state whenever you die and respawn, cross dimensions (like entering the Nether or End), log out of a world, disconnect from a server, or even accidentally tap the sprint key again. Having to manually re-activate sprinting after every common event breaks game flow and is highly disruptive.
Sprint Lock resolves this issue permanently by patching the underlying key mapping and reset logic directly. Instead of forcing sprinting through raw input injection every tick, it preserves the native Toggle Sprint state across all player recreation events. Once you enable the mod and toggle your sprint on, it stays locked on.
Key Features
- Indestructible Sprint State: Stays active through player deaths, dimension changes, server disconnects, and re-logging.
- No Accidental Toggles: Prevents pressing the sprint key from toggling it off while playing.
- Seamless Settings Integration: Works perfectly regardless of whether your vanilla setting is set to Hold or Toggle.
- Highly Optimized: Pure mixin implementation with zero performance overhead.
- Mod Menu Config: Includes a clean, simple toggle button in Mod Menu to turn the mod off and instantly restore vanilla behavior.

Sprint Lock server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Sprint Lock compatible with fabric?
Sprint Lock officially supports fabric for Minecraft 26.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Sprint Lock – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Sprint Lock consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
