About this Mod
Hexcasting utilizes a stack as its primary computational substrate; the shape of the language so to speak. The stack is integral to the identity of Hexcasting, but in spite of that, Hexcasting has not yet fully embraced its stack. Its transformation is incomplete because its fundamental building blocks—patterns—can not be stacked.
This mod fixes that by removing the "backwards to undo" movement. Moving backwards 'stacks' up one z-level as a backwards stroke and you are free to draw over existing edges. Not only that, it intercepts patterns drawn containing backwards strokes and splits it up, creating a list of tamer patterns (can't go backwards but can still stack along its own edges), and pushes that list as an execution continuation frame. In short, you can draw entire Hexes in a single stroke.

Stack Patterns server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Stack Patterns compatible with fabric and quilt?
Stack Patterns officially supports fabric, quilt for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Stack Patterns – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Stack Patterns consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
