Steam's Primitive Chests Mod

Steam's Primitive Chests is a mod designed to enhance the early game progression in Minecraft by introducing primitive storage solutions that fit the theme of more gradual technological advancement. This mod is perfect for modpacks like SevTech: Ages, where slow progression is a core gameplay feature. The mod replaces the vanilla chest recipe with more primitive, early-game options and introduces new blocks that emphasize resource scarcity and the need for more thoughtful exploration and crafting.

Key Features

Primitive Chest

New Recipes

The mod replaces the vanilla chest recipe with a more primitive version that requires more manual effort and crafting. Players will need to combine wood and stone or similar early-game resources to create the Primitive Chest, making it harder to obtain early storage without putting in a little more time and effort.

Port to Minecraft 1.20.1

Originally developed for an earlier version of Minecraft, I attempted to create a pull request for PrimalChests 1.16.5, but unfortunately, the original mod author did not respond. As a result, I decided to take matters into my own hands and port my own version of the mod to Minecraft 1.20.1. This updated version is now fully functional and optimized for the latest version(s) of the game, ensuring that players in modpacks designed for slower early-game progression can continue to benefit from the mod’s features.
