About this Mod
Still Chopper
Still Chopper is a standalone physical tree-felling mod for Minecraft.
It is not TreeFeller, VeinMiner, or an instant resource vacuum. Chopper makes small and medium trees fall into physical fallen-log reconstructions instead of simply deleting the tree and dropping every block at once.
This alpha focuses on stable, readable tree felling. Logs fall into a physical reconstruction, supported leaf blocks move with the fallen section, and fallen logs are protected from being felled again.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- Fabric Loader
- Fabric API
Alpha Features
- Physical tree felling for small and medium trees
- 26-neighbor log scanning
- Dynamic tree-size classification
- No unmapped falling logs
- Fallen logs are marked against refelling
- Scan-contamination guard prevents already-fallen logs from being moved again
- Supported leaf blocks move with fallen logs
- Leaf movement is capped for performance
- Developer chat/logging is disabled by default
- 2x2 and 3x3 trunk trees are disabled for this alpha
- Leaf pile code/assets are not included in the alpha build
Known Alpha Limitations
- Large jungle trees may be rejected
- 2x2 and 3x3 trunk trees are intentionally disabled
- Shape-preserving reconstruction is not final
- Leaf movement is first-pass and capped
- Some canopy leaves may remain if outside the supported movement range
- Leaf piles, stump generation, and Still Ecology integration are deferred
Design Goal
Still Chopper is designed to make tree harvesting feel more physical while staying close to vanilla Minecraft. The goal is not to make wood collection instant, but to make tree felling feel more natural, readable, and expandable.
