About this Mod

[Surface Tension Title]

A small mod that aims to expand Minecraft's oceans

Features

  • Bubbles appear in underwater caves for air replenishment.
  • Crab claw item that exends block placing and breaking reach when held.

Blocks

  • Tension rod - Crafted from copper blocks and its' variants. can be used to prevent water from flowing downwards in a 3x3 grid.

  • Geyser Blocks - Sand and gravel variants that emit bubble entites when below water. Unaffected by gravity.

  • Hook - A decorative block that can be used to dry cod and salmon fishes when placed above campfires. dried fishes give 10 seconds of Water Breathing upon consumption.

  • Net - A decorative block which allows any entity to travel up through it, but blocks movement down.

  • Plankton Bush - An underwater plant that emits "plankton" particles around it. Barnacle clusters placed 1 block below it in a 3x3 grid will grow after some time had passed.

  • Barnacles - A decorative block found in buried ship chests. Can be placed on all sides of the block, and has three cluster sizes. Place a barnacle on a barnacle cluster to add to it's size.

  • Dock Post - A decorative block.

  • Dock Net - A decorative block. Connects to dock posts.

  • Coral Shelf & Dead Coral Shelf - Decorational blocks. Generate in ocean biomes. act similarly to minecraft's corals.

Mobs

  • Bubble - Slowly rises in water until it hits something or leaves the water. players can collide with it in order to replenish breathing time.

  • Crab - The crab from minecraft's mob vote. Spawns in mangrove forests. Use shears to collect its' large claw.

How to Install Surface Tension on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.1).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Surface Tension". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Surface Tension server crashes on startup – what to do?
