About this Mod

You may NOT use this mod in some public server! If this mod leads to your account being banned by the server, we will not be held responsible. Use it with caution!

This is an unofficial addon and has no connection to the official TACZ project.

CrispyWafer Gun Tracker Mod is a lightweight, client‑side utility for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge) that enhances your aiming precision by automatically tracking the heads of other players and hostile mobs. It is specifically designed for first‑person shooter experiences, gun mods (like Vic’s Modern Warfare, MrCrayfish’s Gun Mod, or Techguns), PvP scenarios, or any situation where fast and accurate target acquisition matters.

Because the mod runs entirely on the client, it does not require installation on the server. You can use it on any multiplayer server (even vanilla or Paper) without the server owner’s intervention – though we always recommend respecting server rules.

Key Features

  1. Dual Aim Modes
The mod offers two complementary aiming modes, each bound to a different key.

Mode Key Binding Behaviour
Continuous Aim Left Alt (toggle) Once activated, your crosshair will smoothly follow the head of the nearest valid target (players first, then any hostile mob). The tracking speed is fully adjustable. Tap Left Alt again to deactivate.
Flick Aim Mouse Button 5 (hold) While held, the camera instantly snaps to the target’s head and stays locked. As soon as you release the button, the camera returns to its original position – optionally with a configurable return speed. Perfect for quick “flick shots”.
Both modes can be used independently. The continuous mode is ideal for sustained firefights, while the flick mode gives you a “panic button” for those sudden close encounters.

  1. Smart Target Prioritisation
The mod intelligently chooses the best target in your field of view (up to 64 blocks radius):

Players are always preferred over mobs (but the mod does not attack allies; it only moves your crosshair).

If multiple players are present, the closest one is selected.

If no player is found, the mod picks the nearest hostile mob – this includes zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders, endermen, vindicators, and any other entity that implements the Monster interface (which covers the vast majority of attack‑ready creatures from both vanilla and most mods).

Dropped items, passive animals, villagers, and armour stands are completely ignored.

  1. Fully Configurable Speed & Smoothness
Every aspect of the aiming movement can be tuned in the in‑game configuration screen (accessible via the Mods menu). No file editing required, and changes take effect immediately.

Setting Range Description
Continuous Aim Speed 0.0 – 1.0 How fast the crosshair follows the target in toggle mode. Lower values = smoother/slower, higher values = more responsive.
Flick Speed 0.0 – 1.0 How quickly the camera snaps to the target when holding the flick key. At 1.0 it is instantaneous.
Return Speed 0.0 – 1.0 How fast the camera returns to the original view after releasing the flick key. Use a lower value for a graceful reset or 1.0 for an instant jump back.
Smooth Sub‑steps 2 – 8 Each game tick, the required rotation is divided into this many micro‑steps. Higher values produce butter‑smooth tracking and eliminate almost all visible jitter, especially while you are moving or shooting. The default of 4 offers a great balance between smoothness and performance.
4. No Jitter, No Over‑correction
Unlike many basic “aim assist” mods that simply overwrite your view angle once per frame, this mod implements sub‑step interpolation and optional dead‑zone logic (removed by default for maximum responsiveness, but can be reintroduced via the source code). The result is a tracking behaviour that feels natural, never robotic, and does not conflict with your own mouse movements.

  1. Client‑Only & Lightweight
The mod runs entirely on the client side and sends no extra network packets. It does not modify any server‑side logic, so it is compatible with all server types (Spigot, Paper, Forge servers, vanilla, Realms, etc.). The performance impact is negligible – even on older hardware you will not notice any frame drop.

How to Use
Installation

Make sure you have Forge 1.20.1 installed.

Drop the mod .jar file into your .minecraft/mods folder.

Launch the game.

Key Bindings

Open the Options → Controls screen and scroll down to the CrispyWafer Gun Tracker Mod category.

Rebind the two keys to your preference. The defaults are:

Toggle Continuous Aim: Left Alt

Hold Flick Aim: Mouse Button 5

Configuration

From the main menu, click Mods → find CrispyWafer Gun Tracker Mod → click the Config button.

Adjust the sliders to your liking. Changes are applied instantly, so you can test in a world while keeping the config screen open.

In Game

Press Left Alt once – your crosshair will start following the nearest player or monster. Press again to stop.

Hold Mouse Button 5 – the camera instantly snaps to the target. Release to return to where you were looking.

The mod works with any weapon (bows, guns, melee, even your fist). It only moves the camera; it does not automatically shoot for you.

Why Choose This Mod?
There are many aim‑assist mods out there, but most either cause visible flickering, cannot track moving targets smoothly, or are detected as “cheating” by anti‑cheat plugins. This mod was written from the ground up with smoothness and transparency in mind. It does not inject any hidden code, it does not try to bypass anti‑cheat (the movement is purely client‑side camera manipulation), and it gives you complete control over every parameter.

Whether you are a PvP player who wants a slight edge in target acquisition, a gun mod enthusiast who struggles with small on‑screen targets, or simply a builder who wants to admire a creeper’s face before it explodes – this mod makes aiming more enjoyable.

Technical Notes
Minecraft Version: 1.20.1

Forge Version: 47.3.22 or later (backwards compatible).

Mappings: Parchment 2023.09.03 (human‑readable parameter names).

Java: 17 (the mod is compiled with Java 17).

Dependencies: None. It is a standalone mod.

All source code is open for review – no hidden telemetry, no background internet connections.

Future Plans
Configurable target FOV (only track entities within a cone).

Optional crosshair colour change when a target is locked.

“Aim lock” while holding the continuous toggle (keeps tracking even if you stop moving the mouse).

More granular dead‑zone settings for players who prefer a less aggressive assist.

Final Words
CrispyWafer Gun Tracker Mod is a tool, not an aimbot. It does not guarantee hits; it only helps you keep your crosshair on the target. Use it responsibly and respect the rules of the servers you play on.

If you encounter any bugs or have feature requests, please report them on the issue tracker (link will be provided on the download page). Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Happy hunting,
