About this Mod

About The Between
The Between is a mod that introduces customizable portal-based fast travel, allowing players to create and link their own teleportation networks.
Ruined Portals and Keystone
Ruined Between portals can be found scattered across all 3 dimensions, being rarest in the Overworld and most common in the End. These structures contain valuable loot, including the key material used to build your own portals, Keystone.
Keystone is a durable block that can only be broken using diamond-tier tools, it can however be engraved using any tool and its main use is being the primary material for constructing Between Portals.
Building Between Portals
Between Portals are similar to Nether portals, but with with some key differences:
- Minimum size: 2×2 (instead of 3×2)
- Can be built vertically or sideways
- Need to have their 4 corners engraved

Some possible portal configurations.
Linking Between Portals
Portal linking is based on engravings, two portals automatically connect when their corner carvings match.
Portals can only link within the same dimension.
