The Hush
The Hush in an intelligent entity that resides in the dark. It learns from your behavior and tries to trick you. Do NOT fall for it.
About this Mod
“Day 35. It goes for the light. I watched a torch vanish from my wall. There was no sound, no fire, just... sudden, suffocating darkness. All I can sense now are the footsteps.”
Minecraft's darkness has always been pretty safe. Not anymore.
The Hush is a psychological horror mod designed to make you dread the places you think are safe. Instead of spawning random, loud monsters that run at you to jumpscare you, it introduces a silent, patient presence that watches you, maps out the paths you repeat on autopilot, and slowly turns your own familiar routines against you.
What is waiting in the dark?
It watches from the shadows - Vigilance is rewarded
The paranoia starts small - A torch gets snuffed out when your back is turned. A faint, irregular heartbeat echoes behind a solid stone wall
It remembers where you feel safe - The staircase you dug, the mine branch you run down without looking, the small nook where you sleep - these are the paths it registers and targets
Your base isn't safe - While you are away, it can tamper with your home. You might find doors opened, torches snuffed out or chests messed with
It mimics your sounds - You might hear your own actions echoed back to you. If you are mining, placing blocks, or running in a cave, you might hear those exact sounds replayed from the dark tunnels behind you
Do not trust everything you find - It can set up traps that will attract it
Secrets & Abductions - Deep underground, you will discover procedurally generated structures like outposts, shrines, and bone-filled crypts containing lost journals. But greed is punished here - make sure you are actually alone before you start looting. If you are caught, you aren't always just killed, you can get dragged down into escape chambers where you have to find a way out
