What is the Legend of Steve?

The Legend of Steve is a mod that I've been working on and off on for a while for fun. It originally was meant to only be themed after older Zelda, but a lot of other game stuff has kinda seaped into the project as well. This mod aims to introduce these new features while also hopefully not making it feel too out of place in Minecraft. It tries to blend them together.

This mod's original release was admitidly very poorly put together, and had quite a few bugs, and was very rough around the edges. After trying to work with the original project for a while, it was pretty aparent that a rewrite was in order due to how bad some of the code was. This project is still in the middle of being rewritten, but I decided that it would be better to release an earlier version of the project than never release it at all. Most of the features should be obtainable in survival, but for a while there could be some unaccounted for bugs and mod incompatibilities.

There's a lot of new things that can be found throughout the world.

Bomb Flowers: Bomb flowers are a new plant that's found underground that yeild bombs

Deku Trees: Larger Trees that have a new woodset, and can grow Deku Nuts (which can stun creatures)

Loot Grass: Patches of Grass that can be cut using a sword to yeild goodies like arrowes or emerald shards

Fairy Fountains: Underground fountains where both Fairies and Enchanted Spring Water can be found

and more...

FAQ

Q: Why is the mod marked as in Beta?

A: The mod isn't done yet. There could be bugs or mod incompatibilities present that I am or am not aware of!

Q: Is there a Wiki?

A: There isn't a wiki as of right now, but there should be one going up in the near future

Q: Can I use Sodium or Iris with this mod?

A: The mod is currently incompatibile with Sodium and Iris due to some shader effects used for Iridescence and Bloom for blocks, these will be fixed, but they're not my top priority while I still consider this mod not ready.

Q: Where do the sounds for "XYZ" come from?

A: All custom Sound Effects that have been used for this project can either be found here or were made by me!

Q: Why isn't "insert item" in the mod?

A: There's a few items that were removed when releasing 1.1.0, either due to them not being ready for release, or not being rewritten yet, as 1.1.0 is a complete rewrite of the mod. Items that were removed are likely to come back in a future update.

Q: Where are dungeons? You've been promising them for a while now!

A: I've learned a lot from working on this project, one of which is that procedural dungeons that are interesting are a really hard thing to do. They might come one day in the future, but I'm not sure when. I'd rather not burn myself out of this project again, so I don't have a concrete date on when they may come.

Q: Will you port to a version later than 1.20.1?

A: I do want to, it is more than likely to happen, but I'd also rather work on features than porting for the time being. If anyone ends up wanting to port, I give permission so long as you reach out to me!

Q: Will you port to Forge/Neoforge

A: No. But I will do what I can to fix any incompatibilities that come up with Siyntra Connector. In the case that anyone wants to port it, I give permission so long as you reach out to me! I also reccommend you check out Legendary Armory if you're looking for a Forge Zelda mod.
