About this Mod
Project Description
The Lost Menu is a client-side cosmetic mod designed to overhaul the standard Minecraft main menu into a psychological horror experience for modpack developers. Inspired by Graveyard Shift at Freddy's and the aesthetic of The Broken Script, it aims to create an unsettling "system hijack" atmosphere before the player even enters a world.
Main Features
Forced Window Perspective: Automatically scales the game to a restricted 800x600 window in the main menu to create a sense of claustrophobia.
OS Window Manipulation: The actual game window can shake and vibrate on your desktop for high immersion.
Dynamic Visual Glitches: Subtle internal shaking effects simulate a corrupted game state.
Thematic UI: Changes the window title to cryptic messages like choose and decide.
Eerie Soundscape: Replaces standard menu music with unsettling mechanical noise fully compatible with the in game volume slider.
Customization
Every feature including the window shaking can be individually toggled in the configuration file titled the the_lost_menu-client.toml .This allows players to adjust the mod of the experience to their preference.
