About this Mod
DESCRIPTION
Adds a new throw attack, letting you throw certain items, especially "squishy" ones, for a small area effect, sound, and particle when they hit the ground. Some items have similar effects, such as fire charge and gunpowder both lighting TNT and doing damage but gunpowder lighting it faster (as if a TNT lit it instead of a flint and steel) and doing 1/2 heart more damage. These can be used in situations like manhunt/pvp (to slow or debuff an opponent who's right behind you or to light TNT quickly as a dangerous, fast attack), or just to escape from mobs.
The thrown items will need to have 1.5 blocks of air below them at any given point to trigger the effect. You can softly throw items to give them to friends, just be careful to be at the same height as them and looking slightly downward.
VERSIONS
Currently supports Minecraft Java 1.21-1.21.11.
COMPATIBILITY
Incompatible with packs that use the same function and tag names, may cause issues when transporting items or when a dropped item falls off an edge, as it mayfall hard enough to trigger the effect. Be careful how you throw the items. Also, non-solid blocks, including water, will also trigger it.

Throwable Items server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Throwable Items compatible with datapack and fabric and forge and neoforge and quilt?
Throwable Items officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.9. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Throwable Items – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Throwable Items consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
