Tick Stabilizer
Tick Stabilizer is a performance utility mod that prevents Minecraft servers from executing excessive ticks after a lag spike.
About this Mod
Tick Stabilizer is a lightweight mod that prevents Minecraft from overcompensating ticks after a lag spike. Instead of executing dozens of missed ticks in a single burst, this mod introduces a configurable minimum interval between ticks to ensure smoother, more stable gameplay.
Features
- Enforces a minimum delay between ticks (default:
50ms) - Prevents "tick bursts" after lag or performance drops
- Simple configuration via
config/tickstabilizer.json - No gameplay changes - pure performance utility
- Fully compatible with other performance mods
Configuration
{
"tickIntervalMs": 50
}
Minimum: 15 ms
Maximum: 50 ms
If you set a value outside this range, it will be automatically corrected.
Recommended For
- Modpacks with heavy worldgen or AI activity
- Large multiplayer servers
- Players who want smooth, consistent TPS with fewer bursts
Used in the Legends Reborn: Medieval modpack.

Server lagging with Tick Stabilizer – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Tick Stabilizer consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
