About this Mod
Tiered Backpacks
This mod adds tiered backpacks to the game.
Requires Fabric API and Fzzy Config. Mod Menu is required to access the in-game config.

Features
- Six backpack tiers: Leather (3x9) → Copper (4x9) → Iron (5x9) → Golden (6x9) → Diamond (6x11) → Netherite (6x13)
- Size of each backpack fully configurable up to 16x16 slots, with reasonable defaults out of the box
- Open backpacks by right-clicking them, or from your inventory by pressing a keybind (default B)
- Backpacks can be attached to and detached from chestplates. The Netherite Backpack can only be attached to fireproof chestplates (like netherite). The attached backpack can be opened by pressing a keybind (default B) while the chestplate is equipped
- All backpacks except netherite are dyeable like other leather equipment
- Upgrading backpacks keeps their contents and color
- Extensive configuration for toggling equip and open methods and other rules
Mod compatibility
- Trinkets (Updated) or Ohmega: Allows equipping the backpack as a trinket and opening it by pressing a keybind (default B)
- Shulker Box Tooltip: Allows previewing backpack contents in the tooltip
- ItemSwapper: Allows quick-swapping with items from the Devices list
- Item Descriptions: Provided item descriptions for backpacks

How to Install Tiered Backpacks on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (26.2).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Tiered Backpacks". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Tiered Backpacks server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Tiered Backpacks compatible with fabric and neoforge?
Tiered Backpacks officially supports fabric, neoforge for Minecraft 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Tiered Backpacks – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Tiered Backpacks consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
