About this Mod
Tinkers' Tools
Tinkers' Tools is thingpack for Tinkers' Construct that adds several tools. Everything is obtainable in survival.
Requires Json Things, which is only on CurseForge
Overview
This thingpack currently adds eight tools:
- Dolabra
- Hammer
- Hoe
- Mace
- Paxel
- Shortbow
- Shovel
- Spear
It also adds three tool parts:
- Mace Head
- Shovel Blade
- Slender Blade
Heres some quick definitions of these tools:
The dolabra is used to break wood and stone. Slower than most other small tools.
The hammer is a 3x3 mining tool that also does considerable damage. Mines ores extra slow.
The hoe can till dirt, break plants like leaves, and has two extra upgrade slots.
The mace is a slow, damaging weapon that has armor piercing. Does not work like the Minecraft mace.
The paxel is a broad tool that essentially combines a axe, pickaxe, and shovel. Is pretty slow though.
The shortbow is a bow that has a short range, but draws quite fast. It has some visible modifiers.
The shovel mines dirt and create paths. Extra knockback. Has two extra upgrades slots.
The spear is a long polearm that has extra reach and increased damage if sprinting.
Any and all further information can be found within the books present in Tinkers' Construct.
Requirements
This thingpack requires both Tinkers' Construct and Json Things.
Possible Questions
Can I use it in a Modpack?
- Of course, just remember that Json Things is only on CurseForge.
Can you add other tools?
- Yes! If you have any ideas, feel free to suggest them here.
Could the balancing be adjusted?
- Absolutely. Even if it is the smallest adjustment. This thingpack is inherintly unbalanced.
Anything not being added?
- Backports. I will only be creating and updating versions 1.20.1+. If Tinkers' advances versions, this will too.
- Anything that I have to code in Java. I am not a developer.
- Armor is not at all planned, but maybe later.
Known Issues
Tools have weird placement when thrown using the throwing modifier. (Fixed in upcoming 1.3.0 update.)
The Spear and Pike (Pike is not out yet) are held the wrong way when throwing. (No clue how to fix this, I'm looking into it for 1.3.0.)
Pike is the incorrect size when used in a ballista bow.
Rush modifier does not display added damage in tooltip, only in tinker's anvil. (Also no clue how to fix.)
Rush and Length modifiers have no color attached to them. (Currently they are white.)
No support for other creator's materials. (Will be added in separate pack, as textures take up lots of space. Almost 70% of this pack's total size is tool textures.)
Final Notes
This thingpack can be used as an example for any wanting to make their own addons to Tinkers' Construct. Kinda like Tinkers' Things, but focused solely on tools.
This mod is not to be taken too seriously, it's mostly a personal project. Updates are whenever I feel like it.
Any comments, criticisms, & requests are welcome.
