TNTier

TNTier

TNTier turns TNT into a real toolkit: mine smarter, blast harder, carve clean tunnels, and choose the exact explosive for the job. From resource-safe mining charges to forceful fire-starting tunnel makers, every boom has a purpose.

About this Mod

TNTier

TNTier adds a small but powerful family of specialized TNT blocks for Minecraft. Instead of every explosive doing the same job, TNTier gives you different tiers and behaviors for mining, tunneling, large blasts, and controlled destruction.

The goal is simple: TNT should be a tool, not just a hole-maker.

What This Mod Adds

TNTier adds a dedicated TNTier creative tab containing the new TNTier variants:

  • Strong TNT
  • Forceful TNT
  • Resource TNT
  • Directional TNT
  • Strong Resource TNT
  • Forceful Resource TNT
  • Strong Directional TNT
  • Forceful Directional TNT

Each TNT keeps vanilla-style priming, fuse behavior, chain reactions, sound, particles, and knockback feel wherever possible. The differences are in what the explosion is meant to do.

TNT Types

Vanilla TNT

Vanilla TNT is not duplicated or re-added by TNTier. It remains the normal minecraft:tnt block and is used as a base crafting ingredient.

  • Explosion power: 4.0
  • Uses normal vanilla TNT behavior.
  • Useful as the base ingredient for most TNTier recipes.

Strong TNT

Strong TNT is the straightforward power upgrade.

  • Explosion power: 8.0
  • Twice the vanilla TNT explosion power.
  • Uses vanilla TNT-style explosion behavior.
  • Uses vanilla TNT-style block drops and chain reactions.

This is the TNT you use when you just want a bigger blast without changing the rules.

Forceful TNT

Forceful TNT is the heavy explosive tier.

  • Explosion power: 12.0
  • Uses vanilla TNT-style explosion behavior.
  • Actively creates fire around the blast.
  • Uses vanilla TNT-style block drops and chain reactions.

Use it when you want serious destructive force and do not mind the area catching fire.

Resource TNT Family

Resource TNT is designed for mining and gathering blocks.

Resource TNT

Resource TNT is a mining-focused TNT.

  • Explosion power: 4.0
  • Destroyed blocks drop their resources reliably.
  • Dropped item entities already lying in the blast radius are protected from being destroyed by the Resource TNT blast.
  • Uses custom amethyst-colored explosion visuals.

This makes Resource TNT much better for excavation than normal TNT, especially when you care about keeping the resources.

Strong Resource TNT

Strong Resource TNT combines Resource behavior with Strong TNT power.

  • Explosion power: 8.0
  • Resource-style reliable block drops.
  • Protects already dropped item entities in the blast radius.
  • Uses custom amethyst-colored explosion visuals.

You can craft it in two ways:

  • Upgrade Resource TNT with Strong TNT ingredients.
  • Upgrade Strong TNT with Resource TNT ingredients.

Forceful Resource TNT

Forceful Resource TNT is the strongest mining TNT currently in the mod.

  • Explosion power: 12.0
  • Resource-style reliable block drops.
  • Protects already dropped item entities in the blast radius.
  • Actively creates fire around the blast.
  • Uses custom amethyst-colored explosion visuals.

It is powerful, profitable, and risky.

Directional TNT Family

Directional TNT is built for tunnel carving.

These TNT blocks are facing-sensitive. When placed, they remember the direction the player was looking, similar to blocks like pistons. Their explosion carves a tunnel along that facing axis, in both directions from the TNT block.

Directional TNT variants use copper-colored explosion visuals and redstone direction markers on the block texture.

Directional TNT

Directional TNT is the compact tunnel tool.

  • Tunnel length: 2 blocks in each direction from the TNT.
  • Cross-section: 3x3 with the four corners removed.
  • Drops: 50% average chance per destroyed block.
  • Does not use Resource TNT drop protection.

This is best for small utility tunnels, controlled openings, and clean shaping.

Strong Directional TNT

Strong Directional TNT keeps the short tunnel length but expands the tunnel shape.

  • Tunnel length: 2 blocks in each direction from the TNT.
  • Cross-section: 5x5 with the four corners removed.
  • Drops: 50% average chance per destroyed block.
  • Does not use Resource TNT drop protection.

You can craft it in two ways:

  • Upgrade Directional TNT with Strong TNT ingredients.
  • Upgrade Strong TNT with Directional TNT ingredients.

Forceful Directional TNT

Forceful Directional TNT is the long tunnel maker.

  • Tunnel length: 5 blocks in each direction from the TNT.
  • Cross-section: 5x5 with the four corners removed.
  • Drops: 50% average chance per destroyed block.
  • Fire chance: 30% chance per destroyed block position to ignite valid fire.
  • Does not use Resource TNT drop protection.

This is the best TNT for quickly punching a larger tunnel through terrain, but it can leave fire behind.

Combined TNT Variants

Resource and Directional TNT can be combined with higher power tiers:

  • Strong Resource TNT

    • Resource TNT + Strong ingredients
    • or Strong TNT + Resource ingredients
  • Forceful Resource TNT

    • Forceful TNT + Resource ingredients
  • Strong Directional TNT

    • Directional TNT + Strong ingredients
    • or Strong TNT + Directional ingredients
  • Forceful Directional TNT

    • Forceful TNT + Directional ingredients

Gameplay Notes

  • Strong means a bigger blast.
  • Forceful means the highest blast tier and fire.
  • Resource means mining-friendly drops and item protection.
  • Directional means controlled tunnel carving, but only 50% of destroyed blocks drop.
  • Resource and Directional behavior can be combined with Strong and Forceful tiers.
  • Directional TNT is placed based on the direction you are looking.
  • Directional TNT explodes along that facing axis in both directions.
  • Forceful Directional TNT does not ignite every block in the tunnel; it has a 30% fire chance per destroyed block position.

Frequently Asked Questions

TNTier server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.1.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is TNTier compatible with fabric?

TNTier officially supports fabric for Minecraft 26.1.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with TNTier – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if TNTier consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
