About this Mod

A player wearing steel armor and holding a steel sword

This mod adds steel tools, weapons, and armor to the game as an optional tier between iron and diamond. Steel has more durability, mines faster, and does more damage than iron!

I recommend playing this alongside TNT's Useful Copper if you want an expanded progression system, including copper and bronze equipment!

Crafting Steel Equipment

Steel tools

To obtain steel equipment, you'll need to find a steel upgrade template in a chest. Once you've found one, you can duplicate it by surrounding it with iron in a crafting table. Next, you'll need to craft a steel ingot from 4 iron ingots and 4 coal. Finally, apply the template to iron gear in a smithing table using the steel ingot.

Flint and Steel

The flint and steel recipe has been changed to use a steel ingot instead of an iron ingot.

Steel Blocks

Steel blocks being used for a beacon

You can craft steel blocks from 9 steel ingots. These blocks are stronger than regular iron, but not as strong as obsidian. Since they're made of iron, they can be used for beacons as well.
