Totem of the Storm ⚡
This is my first mod! I'm just learning Java and Minecraft modding. Please don't judge too harshly!
🎓 What is this?
This mod adds a Storm Totem — a structure that summons lightning and gives buffs when activated. Made by following tutorials, trial and error, with tons of mistakes along the way.
⚠️ Honest Warning
- 🎨 Textures are bad — I'm not an artist, drew them myself + some AI help
- 🐛 There may be bugs — this is my first project, barely tested
- 💻 Code isn't perfect — I'm learning, feedback is welcome in Issues
- 🔧 Limited features — the mod is simple, but it works (I think)
⚡ What the mod does
- Build a totem from 3 blocks (2 Storm Blocks + 1 Rod)
- Activate with Storm Flint
- Lightning, particles, thunder sound
- Player gets Speed and Jump Boost
- Nearby crops instantly grow
- Animals glow and drop experience

How to Install Totem of the Storm on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set forge Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the forge loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.6).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Totem of the Storm". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Totem of the Storm server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.6). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Totem of the Storm compatible with forge?
Totem of the Storm officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.6, 1.20.5, 1.20.4. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Totem of the Storm – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Totem of the Storm consumes the most tick time.
