TWISB-Combat
Combat, The Way It Should Be! This mod tweaks health regeneration, throwable potions and tridents to improve the combat experience.
About this Mod
Summary
Do you think minecraft combat lacks variety and that health regen from eating food is too strong, leading to drawn out fights? Well, this mod is for you!
I created this mod to make Minecraft combat more interesting while keeping it as close to Vanilla as possible. The goal is to take what is already in the game and make it actually useful (Mojang, if you read this, I would love if you added these changes to the game).
Health regen changes
Health no longer regenerates very quickly when at full hunger. Instead, regeneration is always slow. The default vanilla regeneration can be re-enabled by setting the game rule "fastRegenFood" to true. Regeneration potions and golden apples work as usual.
Splash and lingering potions buff
Splash and lingering potions can now be held down to throw them further, allowing you to hit enemies at range and decreasing the risk of hitting yourself. They are much better in combat now!
Trident buff
Tridents have nearly doubled drop chance from Drowned and hit enemies from one block further.
Impaling now deals damage to all wet mobs, not just aquatic ones. "Wet" is a status effect obtained by touching water, being rained on, or being splashed with a water potion. It only lasts 10 seconds, which encourages quick combos. Overall, tridents are now a viable melee weapon with a fun combo mechanic. You might even prefer them to diamond/netherite swords in some cases! From mod version 0.2.1 tridents can be repaired with prismarine shards.
