Features
- Anvils can now use levels beyond 39, a feature that is already in other mods, but I challenged myself to recreate it. This is so that, if so wished, a tool can be repaired many more times than the base game would allow, at the exponential XP cost that the base game already employs.
- The Mending enchantment now only fully repairs an item three times. The efficacy of mending decreases until it no longer repairs the item. For example, you have a Netherite sword, which has a durability of 2031. After mending 6063 durability, which mends slower as the efficacy decreases, Mending no longer has any effect.
- Repairing a tool with materials is now required to prolong the life of the tool.
- Display the current efficacy of mending in the tooltip.

How to Install Useful Anvil on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Useful Anvil". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Useful Anvil server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
