About this Mod
Villager Guilds — Smarter Villagers, Living Towns, Meaningful Professions
Villager Guilds transforms Minecraft villages into thriving, believable communities by giving villagers purpose, progression, and pride in their craft. Instead of every villager being a static trading post, this mod introduces villager professions that actually do their jobs, unlock new abilities, and contribute to the growth of their town.
🌱 Villagers With Careers, Not Just Trades
Villagers now progress through their profession beyond Master, gaining access to Guild Ranks and specialized skills that improve their usefulness and immersion in village life.
🏛️ Build Guild Halls to Unlock Advanced Skills
A villager can’t rise above Master on their own — they must join a Guild.
To do that, players build Guild Halls: profession-specific workspaces that meet certain requirements such as:
Dedicated Guild Banner for that profession
Required workstations and furniture
Sufficient space and storage
Once a hall is complete, Master villagers of the matching profession may join, becoming Adept, and eventually Guildmaster — unlocking enhanced behaviors, trades, and abilities.
📜 The Commission System: Post Jobs, Earn Results
Villager Guilds introduces the Commission Board, a wall-mounted job board where players can:
Post work requests (commissions)
Set payment and desired items
Have villagers claim and complete the tasks
The system is fully server-authoritative, making it SMP-friendly and fair.
🪓 New Professions & Behaviors
Each profession gains new, lore-friendly abilities that make them valuable members of your settlement. Examples include:
Woodcutter Guild
Plants and manages forests
Crafts refined wood goods at higher ranks
Farmer Guild
Tends assigned crops properly (no random planting)
Uses chests to store harvests, replants intelligently
Shepherd Guild (planned)
Shears sheep and stores wool automatically
Butcher Guild (planned)
Breeds and maintains livestock responsibly
Miner Guild
Works at the Prospector’s Table
Mines intelligently, stores resources, and at Guildmaster rank can perform Directed Mining by following player-placed Survey Stakes to carve tunnels, torching and securing the path as they go
