📖 Information
Ships do damage upon hitting players depending on the player's velocity, the ship's velocity and the ship's mass.
Config options are described below, don't touch them unless you know what you are doing!
Config Options
speedThreshold- The minimum collision velocity, measured in (blocks / tick)^2, when this mod's effects should apply. The collision velocity is how much the player was moved as a result of being hit.massThreshold- The minimum mass of a ship for which this mod's effects should apply.damageCoefficient- Damage is calculated by the formula damageCoefficient * (1/2)(ship mass)(velocity)^2, where velocity is how much the entity was moved as a result of being hit.minDamage- Minimum damage that can be inflicted by a ship.maxDamage- Maximum damage that can be inflicted by a ship.knockbackCoefficient- Knockback is calculated by the formula knockbackCoefficient * (1/2)(ship mass)(velocity)^2, where velocity is how much the player was moved as a result of being hit.minKnockback- Minimum knockback allowed. Number is roughly equivalent to knockback enchantment.maxKnockback- Maximum knockback allowed. How to Install VS: Hit & Run on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "VS: Hit & Run". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

VS: Hit & Run server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is VS: Hit & Run compatible with fabric and forge?
VS: Hit & Run officially supports fabric, forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with VS: Hit & Run – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if VS: Hit & Run consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
