The Wolf Enchantments mod adds a collection of new enchantments that will level up your furry companions!

Enchantments

Dire

Turn your wolf into a direwolf using the dire enchantment! This enchantment has one level, and increases the size of your wolf by 50% and increases their max health by 10! (5 hearts)

Reinforced

The Reinforced enchantment reduces how much durability damage wolf armor receives. Wolf armor already absorbs 100% of damage, so this enchantment effectively makes your wolf survive longer. It has four levels, and each level reduces durability damage by 20%, maxing out at 80%!

Hunter Insight

The Hunter Insight enchantment greatly increases the amount of EXP dropped by mobs killed by your wolf. The wolf must get the last hit for the effect to apply. It has three levels, each increasing the amount of exp by 50%, maxing out at 150%. 

Scavenger

The Scavenger enchantment increases the amount of items dropped by mobs killed by your wolf. It has three levels, each increasing the amount of items you can get. The amount of additional items dropped is similar to the sword enchantment Looting and depends on the mob.

Swift Paws

The Swift Paws enchantment increases the movement speed of wolves. It has five levels and each level increases the movement speed by 10% maxing out at 50%.

Fire Fang

With the Fire Fang enchantment your wolf will set mobs on fire when it attacks them. It has three levels, and each level increases the burn time by four seconds! Some mobs like chickens will also drop cooked versions of their items when killed. Wolf armor can only have one fang enchantment at a time.

Ice Fang

With the Ice Fang enchantment, your wolf will slow mobs down when it attacks them. It has three levels, and each level increases how strong the effect is and how long it will last. Wolf armor can only have one fang enchantment at a time.

• Level 1 = Slowness I for 4 seconds.
• Level 2 = Slowness II for 4-6 seconds.
• Level 3 = Slowness III for 4-8 seconds.

Thunder Fang

With the Thunder Fang enchantment, your wolf will sometimes summon lightning strikes when attacking. It has three levels, and each level increases the chance of a lightning strike by 10%. Your wolf will also be immune to lightning damage and damage caused by standing in fire. Wolf armor can only have one fang enchantment at a time.

Poison Fang

With the Poison Fang enchantment, your wolf will poison mobs it attacks. It has three levels, and each level increases the potential duration of the poison. Keep in mind, spiders and undead mobs like zombies and skeletons are not affected by poison. Wolf armor can only have one fang enchantment at a time.

• Level 1 = Poison II for 1-5 seconds.
• Level 2 = Poison II for 1-7.5 seconds.
• Level 3 = Poison II for 1-10 seconds.

Psychic Fang

With the Psychic Fang enchantment, your wolf will weaken mobs it attacks, reducing their melee damage by 8 (4 hearts). It has three levels, and each level increases the duration of the effect. Wolf armor can only have one fang enchantment at a time.

• Level 1 = Weakness II for 1-2.5 seconds.
• Level 2 = Weakness II for 2-4 seconds.
• Level 3 = Weakness II for 3-5.5 seconds.

Curse of Restraint

The curse of restraint is a rare enchantment that can only be found in loot tables, trades, and other places curses can be found. This curse reduces the damage of your wolf by 100% and prevents it from targeting or attacking any mob! Your wolf will also be immune to virtually all sources of damage except void damage. This effect all but ensures your wolf will be safe on your adventures, but makes it not very useful for combat. Curses are not obtained through the enchanting table.

Questions & Answers

What are fang enchantments?
Fang enchantments are a new category of enchantments added by this mod. They typically have effects related to combat and have the word fang in their name. Wolf armor can only have one fang enchantment at a time, so you need to choose which of the effects you want to use. This group of enchantments is also inspired by a category of attacks in Pokemon with the same name!

Are these enchantments compatible with wolf armor from other mods?
This mod should be compatible with most wolf armor mods, but there are a few requirements. The mod must add their item to the minecraft:enchantable/wolf_armor tag, and it must have an enchantability component. These are pretty simple requirements that mods like Iron Wolf Armor support.

Does this mod have any required dependencies?
Yes, this mod requires Prickle, a cross-platform config library that provides useful features like default values and comments. 

Can you (back)port this mod to support other Minecraft versions?
There are no plans to backport this mod to older versions of the game, but I will update the mod to newer versions of the game when I have time.
