X Wathe Roles
New Roles in Harpy Train, with new utils to improve your train period!
About this Mod
XWatheRoles
XWatheRoles is a Wathe addon for Minecraft 1.21.1 that adds new roles, modifiers, shop items, poison/shield mechanics, voice-chat interactions, and compatibility fixes for other Wathe role addons.
The mod is built as a long-term workspace for custom roles under the xwatheroles namespace.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- Fabric Loader 0.17.2 or newer
- Fabric API
- Wathe
- Harpy Mod Loader
- Simple Voice Chat
Core Features
Role and Modifier Information UI
XWatheRoles adds clear in-game role information instead of relying on hardcoded or hidden descriptions.
- Your current modifier is always shown above the stamina bar.
- Modifier ability text is displayed with the modifier name.
- The inventory screen shows your role, faction, win condition, role ability, modifier, and modifier ability.
- Role and modifier descriptions are loaded from language files, so they can be translated or adjusted without editing Java code.
Custom Poison and Shield Systems
This mod uses its own poison and shield logic instead of relying on buggy poison/shield behavior from Wathe or other addons.
- Normal shields block one non-magic damage source.
- Antidote shields block one poison-type damage source.
- Poison behavior is shared across XWatheRoles items and supported compatible addon items.
- Fake poison behaves like poison symptoms without causing death.
Test Creative Tab
XWatheRoles adds a dedicated creative item group so new role items can be tested quickly.
New Roles
Poison Killer
A hostile killer role focused on poison assassination. The Poison Killer can buy normal poison, strong poison, and scorpions. Strong poison kills immediately and creates a short black cloud, while normal poison kills after a delayed poison timer unless blocked by poison immunity or an antidote shield.
Psychopath
A neutral slaughter role that must kill until only they remain. The Psychopath has sanity, money, killer-style shop access, and a weakened psycho mode. Killing costs sanity unless the target is a killer, and the game does not end simply because all normal killers are dead while the Psychopath is alive.
Crossbowman
A killer role using a silent loaded crossbow and limited arrows. The crossbow must be loaded before firing, consumes arrows, has a long cooldown, and can recover missed arrows or arrows from corpses. Crossbowman receives periodic income instead of using the normal killer income loop.
Bartender
An innocent support role. The Bartender buys bartender agent, overwrites poisoned food or drink trays, cleans poison, restores sanity and stamina, grants a normal shield, and can see drinking players and poisoned players through walls.
Lucifer
A killer-sided neutral role with strong survivability. Lucifer normally ignores knives, guns, blunt kills, explosives, and poison, but can still be killed by correct guess-style effects and voodoo/magic-style death. Lucifer uses flashbangs, traps, fake weapons, and weakened psycho mode, and has killer-style instinct vision with black highlighting.
Priest
An innocent revival role. The Priest starts with a one-use Bible and can revive corpses. Reviving a killer sacrifices the Priest and converts the target to an innocent role. Reviving a neutral strips their role. Reviving a lover can revive both lovers. All revived players lose their old modifier and become Pious.
Pharmacist
An innocent medicine-shop role. The Pharmacist can buy:
- Cardiac Stimulant: blocks one non-poison, non-magic hit.
- Antidote: blocks one poison hit.
- Nutrient Solution: counts as completing an eating or drinking task.
- Cod Liver Oil: grants brief night vision.
Medicine can be used on yourself or sneak-used on another player.
Butcher
An innocent enforcer role with a very high sanity cap. The Butcher can buy a butcher knife and kill, but wrong kills are dangerous: killing a killer costs sanity, while killing an innocent causes a huge sanity penalty and a stun.
Dreamwalker
A neutral transformation role. Dreamwalker uses fake poison and weak defense shields to build separate progress counters. Fake poison progress can transform Dreamwalker into Nightmare, while shield-trigger progress can transform Dreamwalker into Dream Guardian. Dreamwalker is specially marked in killer instinct vision but is not treated as a killer teammate.
Nightmare
A killer transformation role created from Dreamwalker. Nightmare can use Nightmare Leap to teleport to the nearest player who has slept long enough and kill them with magic-style death. Nightmare receives killer instinct vision and a dedicated shop balance on transformation.
Dream Guardian
An innocent transformation role created from Dreamwalker. Dream Guardian can buy Good Dream, a global sleeping-player protection effect. Each eligible non-killer player can only benefit from this once per round.
New Modifiers
Mute
Mute players cannot be heard through voice chat. In exchange, they can see every player's position and learn a limited number of random identities.
Pious
A blank modifier used after Priest revival. It has no special ability and is not randomly assigned at game start.
Saboteur
Saboteurs can open doors barehanded as if forcing them with a crowbar, leaving the door broken open for a short time.
Heart Disease
An innocent-only modifier. Staying too close to killers drains sanity and builds a hidden danger timer. If exposure lasts too long, the player screams and then dies from heart disease. This death ignores shields and immunity.
Compatibility
NoellesRoles
XWatheRoles includes compatibility work for NoellesRoles role and modifier information.
- NoellesRoles roles and modifiers can be shown in the role information UI.
- NoellesRoles role descriptions are represented through language keys.
- Poison and scorpion-style behavior can be routed through XWatheRoles' custom poison system where relevant.
- Killer instinct/alt-vision behavior is patched for special cases such as Lucifer visibility.
- Priest revival fixes voice-group issues so revived players are removed from dead voice chat.
- Lover revival support allows linked lovers to be revived together when required.
KinsWathe
XWatheRoles also includes compatibility work for KinsWathe.
- KinsWathe role and modifier descriptions can appear in the role information UI.
- Kins poison/scorpion-style items are standardized to use XWatheRoles poison behavior where relevant.
- Robot compatibility is handled for poison and flashbang immunity.
- Supported KinsWathe roles are included in the language-based description system.
Voice Chat Integration
Simple Voice Chat is used for role and modifier mechanics that affect speech or dead-player voice groups.
- Mute prevents other players from receiving the muted player's voice.
- Dead/revived voice group transitions are corrected for revival mechanics.
- Voice-chat-related role behavior can be kept compatible with Wathe and addon roles.
Notes for Servers and Modpacks
XWatheRoles is designed to sit on top of Wathe rather than replace it. It adds new roles, fixes several addon interaction problems, and centralizes fragile mechanics such as poison, shields, role descriptions, and voice-chat state handling.
For testing, use the XWatheRoles creative tab to access new items directly.
