Bidirectional Freight Platforms
A freight platform can now load and unload the same train car during a single stop.
Description
Overview
Bidirectional Freight Platform enhances freight platforms by allowing them to load and unload the same train car from a single platform.
In vanilla Satisfactory, a freight platform must be configured either as Load or Unload. This mod removes that limitation by allowing both modes to be enabled simultaneously, making train logistics more flexible and reducing the number of platforms required in many setups.
The mod supports both:
Freight Platforms (solid items)
Fluid Freight Platforms (liquids and gases)
No changes are required to your existing railway network. Simply configure the platform modes according to your needs.
---
How to Use
Open the configuration panel of any Freight Platform or Fluid Freight Platform.
Instead of a single Load/Unload selection, each mode now has its own toggle:
Load: Enable or disable loading items or fluids into the train.
Unload: Enable or disable unloading items or fluids from the train.
This allows three possible configurations:
| Load | Unload | Behavior |
| ---- | ------ | ------------------------------ |
| ON | OFF | Load only (vanilla behavior) |
| OFF | ON | Unload only (vanilla behavior) |
| ON | ON | Bidirectional platform |

Good to Know
Train operation order
When a train stops at a bidirectional platform (Load = ON and Unload = ON), operations are performed in the following order:
1. Unload cargo from the train
2. Load cargo into the train
This order is always respected.
Existing platforms
Platforms that already exist in your save will keep their current configuration:
Existing Load platforms remain Load only.
Existing Unload platforms remain Unload only.
No automatic changes are made to existing factories.
Newly built platforms
New Freight Platforms and Fluid Freight Platforms are created with both modes enabled by default:
Load = ON
Unload = ON
Important
Any train stopping at a newly built or bidirectional platform will perform:
1. An unload operation
2. A load operation
unless train filters prevent one of these actions.
For this reason, it is recommended to review your train schedules and platform filters when introducing bidirectional platforms into an existing logistics network.

Q/A
Is this mod multiplayer compatible ?
This mod has been tested on a selfhosted windows server and dedicated server. I have also compiled the mod for Linux but I have no mean to test it so use it at your own risk (if you want to help me with that you can open a ticket).
Also, in multiplayer you may encounter some visual artifacts, like cargo type switching from fluid to solid, or cargo teleport during the 2nd pass animation. I have tried to fix it but wasn't able to do so. This is a known limitation and is mainly due to how the game play the animation in vanilla game (this can happen in the vanilla game if you cut the power while the animation is playing).
What happen if I unistall the mod on a save where some stations had biderectional mode activated ?
The bidirectional stations will be set to "Unload" mode. Stations on "Load" mode will stay on "Load" and "Unload" on "Unload".</br>
Note that all content placed in the "Load" inventory will be lost no matter the station mode.

Frequently Asked Questions
Bidirectional Freight Platforms not working after update – what to do?
After a Satisfactory update, mods need to be updated. Check ficsit.app whether Bidirectional Freight Platforms has been updated for the new game version. With Mado Hosting: open the mod manager and click "Update All". If the mod hasn't been updated yet, temporarily remove it so the server starts.
Bidirectional Freight Platforms causing crashes in multiplayer – solution
Most common cause: all players must have exactly the same mod version installed. Check server logs for "ModMismatch" or "Version Conflict". Ensure all players use Bidirectional Freight Platforms v1.0.0 and the same SML. With Mado Hosting, Satisfactory servers run with 6 GB RAM for stable multiplayer performance.
Is Bidirectional Freight Platforms compatible with other Satisfactory mods?
Bidirectional Freight Platforms uses the Satisfactory Mod Loader (SML). Generally, SML-based mods are cross-compatible, but mods modifying the same game systems can cause conflicts. Test new mod combinations on a backup save. The Mado dashboard automatically detects known conflicts and warns you.
