Install Mods on Your Minecraft Server

Mods extend Minecraft with new content, mechanics, and features. Here's how to install mods on your server.

Prerequisites

Mods only work with modified server types:

•Forge - The most well-known mod loader, compatible with most mods

•Fabric - Lightweight and fast, especially for newer MC versions

•NeoForge - A more modern fork of Forge for versions 1.20+

If your server is currently running as Paper or Vanilla, you can change the server type in the Panel under "Settings".

Connect to your server via SFTP (credentials are in the dashboard).

Navigate to the /mods/ folder.

Upload the downloaded .jar mod files to this folder.

Restart the server.

For many mods, you can use the integrated mod system in the Panel:

Open the Panel and navigate to your server.

Go to "Mods" in the sidebar.

Search for the desired mod.

Click "Install".

Restart the server.

•All players must have the same mods installed (client-side).

•Make sure the mod version matches your Minecraft version.

•Some mods are incompatible with each other. Check the mod description for known conflicts.

•Start with a few mods and add more gradually to identify issues more easily.
