About this Modpack

This is a Modpack made for use on the official dev server of the Cosmere Project. This pack is a semi-lightweight modpack intended to maximise the feel of the Cosmere Project mods which on this pack include Allomancy, Feruchemy, Hemalurgy, Sandmastery, and of course the Cosmeres own library mod. These mods were designed with the Cosmere books written by Brandon Sanderson in mind and the mods in the pack are meant to reflect the technology and world of Scadrial. You would typically download this pack to join The Cosmere Projects official minecraft server (accessible via the linked discord) for fun, friendship, and testing purposes. This pack includes some tech mods like Create, Mekanism, and Immersive engineering. Magic mods like Hexcasting and its addons and The Cosmere Projects mods. Some mods for fun and decoration like Chipped, Lets do vinery and candlelight, figura.

This Modpack contains mods that are not hosted on Modrinth, but we are allowed to include due to licenses either at source, or on the mod page. The list alongside the licenses/permissions is provided here:

Frequently Asked Questions

Cosmere Dev Pack server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong forge loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 10 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a Cosmere Dev Pack server really need?

Minimum 6 GB, recommended 10 GB for stable performance. per 4 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €7.800000000000001/month).

Can I add custom mods to Cosmere Dev Pack without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (forge) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.

Cosmere Dev Pack server lagging – performance tips

1) Increase RAM to 10 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
