Balkon's WeaponMod, a Minecraft mod about weapons.
This is HyperSpeeed's modernisation fork of
the original project.
Why?

This project is meant as a homage to our good old friend: Balkon's WeaponMod.
Ten years ago (at the time of writing this it is mid-2024), the mod was abandoned.
There were a few attempts to revive it, some of which were unofficial (mostly direct ports), some were rewrites such
as Reforged.
As one of the two creators of Reforged, I wanted to pose a challenge to myself:
Directly port this gem of a mod to modern versions of Minecraft.
It is currently the 8th June 2024, and I started this whole endeavour on the 17th February 2024.
Yes, it took a bit more than 4 months to finish this port.
I am working full-time, so I can only dedicate a bit of my precious time to projects like this.

How to Install Balkon's WeaponMod: Legacy on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (26.2).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Balkon's WeaponMod: Legacy". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Balkon's WeaponMod: Legacy officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Balkon's WeaponMod: Legacy – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Balkon's WeaponMod: Legacy consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
