About this Mod
One Island
You spawn on a small survival island, in the middle of an endless ocean world. There are no other islands. Additionally, the oceans generate deeper (this is primarily to stop an issue in vanilla where land generates in ocean biomes).
Island Size Changing/Removing (Datapack ONLY)
Inside the data/one_island/worldgen/density_function/spawn.json file, there are two numbers you can change to adjust the size of the islands. I've left comments in this file for clarification on instructions, but you can modify your island to be thousands of blocks long, or even remove it entirely!
Compatibility
There is a high chance this will be compatible with most packs, although the worldgen may be overridden to this island generation.
Gameplay Notes
- The ocean is deeper than normal.
- There are no Mushroom Islands.
- There will likely be no dripstone caves/deep dark, as those only generate inland.
- Sometimes your island may be overtaken by a river, you can always make a new world to test out a better seed.
I may update this in the future to have these cave biomes though if this becomes popular/requested.
Future Plans
- Allow the mod version to be configured in-game, rather than needing to configure the data pack.

One Survival Island server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

One Survival Island officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 26.1, 1.21.11, 1.21.10. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with One Survival Island – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if One Survival Island consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
