Description

The radar in Satisfactory is pretty useless, it just slowly reveals the area around it, and since it's towards the late game (requiring heavy modular frames), you will generally have explored a good portion of the map anyway.

This mod revitalises the humble radar, giving it new abilities to reveal un-mined resources and un-opened drop pods, which are shown on your mini-map.

How To Use

1. Research the radar through the normal Quartz MAM research tree
2. Build a radar, as in vanilla, the radar will scan from 50% to 100% of it's max range
3. As the map is revealed, resources and drop pods will be shown on your mini-map

Note:
- Radars placed higher up give a larger scan range
- Radars only reveal things in a cone below their antenna
- Revealing the map checks for line of sight from the radar (i.e. things hidden behind cliffs aren't revealed), whereas resources and drop pods are strictly range based

How to Install Better Radar on Your Server

Order Satisfactory Server

Order a Satisfactory server with at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended). For multiplayer: per 4 players.

Install Mod

Open the mod manager in the dashboard and search for "Better Radar". Installation dependencies are installed automatically.

Restart Server

Restart the server so the mod is loaded. Players need to have the mod installed locally as well.

Better Radar not working after update – what to do?

After a Satisfactory update, mods need to be updated. Check ficsit.app whether Better Radar has been updated for the new game version. With Mado Hosting: open the mod manager and click "Update All". If the mod hasn't been updated yet, temporarily remove it so the server starts.

Better Radar causing crashes in multiplayer – solution

Most common cause: all players must have exactly the same mod version installed. Check server logs for "ModMismatch" or "Version Conflict". Ensure all players use Better Radar v0.1.0 and the same SML. With Mado Hosting, Satisfactory servers run with 6 GB RAM for stable multiplayer performance.

Is Better Radar compatible with other Satisfactory mods?

Better Radar uses the Satisfactory Mod Loader (SML). Generally, SML-based mods are cross-compatible, but mods modifying the same game systems can cause conflicts. Test new mod combinations on a backup save. The Mado dashboard automatically detects known conflicts and warns you.
