About this Mod

AFK Sit

Requires Detect AFK Players.

Players sit down while they're AFK. It's fun!

Players at a campfire at sunset, two of whom are sitting, implied to be AFK.

Players will stand up again if they have no support underneath them or take damage.

To exclude a player from sitting, give them the afk_sit.ignore tag:

/tag PLAYER add afk_sit.ignore

How to Install AFK Sit on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set datapack Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.8).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "AFK Sit". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

AFK Sit server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.8). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Server lagging with AFK Sit – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if AFK Sit consumes the most tick time.
