Android Optimizer
Android Optimizer is a client-side mod designed to improve Minecraft performance specifically when running on ARM64-based Android devices (e.g., via PojavLauncher or Amethyst).
How it works
This mod includes detection logic to identify if the game is running on an ARM64 Android environment. When detected, it applies various optimizations tailored to mobile SoCs and Android’s memory management constraints.
Key Features
- ARM64 Detection: Automatically enables mobile-specific optimizations only when running on Android.
- SoC-Targeted Profiles: Includes optional, predefined configurations for various Snapdragon and other mobile chipsets to help balance render distance and frame rates.
- Memory Management: Implements a watchdog mechanism to monitor RAM usage, assisting in preventing excessive garbage collection (GC) spikes and reducing the likelihood of app termination by the Android system.
- Client-Side Resource Reduction: Offers tweaks to reduce CPU/GPU load, such as limiting chunk updates per frame, modifying entity animation updates, and toggling decorative effects like rain or particles.
Configuration
Users can customize the behavior of the mod via the configuration file located at: config/androidopt-client.toml.
Compatibility & Recommendations
- Loaders: Developed for NeoForge.
- Recommended Additions: Works best alongside performance mods such as ModernFix and FerriteCore.
Disclaimer
- This mod is currently under development. Please report any bugs, crashes, or feedback via the issue tracker.
- Performance gains may vary significantly depending on your specific device, Android version, and the modpack being used.

Android Optimizer server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong neoforge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Android Optimizer compatible with neoforge?
Android Optimizer officially supports neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Android Optimizer – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Android Optimizer consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
