Awake API
A powerful API for implementing LLM oriented AI features into Minecraft!
About this Mod
AwakeAPI
AwakeAPI is a powerful mod that provides an API for allowing players to communicate with mobs in Minecraft using a Large Language Model (LLM). The AI-powered mobs can also interact with the world around them by executing custom commands that developers can write. This mod opens up new possibilities for dynamic interactions and complex behaviors in your Minecraft world.
Features
- AI-Powered Conversations: Players can engage in conversations with mobs using natural language, powered by an LLM.
- LLM API Internally Handled: The AwakeAPI comes with an in-game command to allow users to choose their own LLM API (OpenAI, Custom OAI-Like, and even support for locally running models such as Oobabooga), simplifying the workflow for developers.
- Custom Commands: Developers can define custom commands that mobs can execute, enabling AI interactions to affect the game world.
- Flexible API: A robust API for registering custom AI functions, managing conversations, and handling AI responses.
- Server-Side Integration: Utility functions for managing player data and AI interactions, optimized for server-side use.

Awake API server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Awake API compatible with fabric and forge?
Awake API officially supports fabric, forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Awake API – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Awake API consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
