About this Mod

Bedrock Miner

Bedrock Miner is a Fabric mod that allows players to mine bedrock in survival mode through a fully configurable and balanced mining system.

Instead of simply making bedrock breakable, the mod integrates with Minecraft's mining mechanics and lets server owners or players decide exactly how difficult bedrock should be to obtain.

Features

Configurable Bedrock Mining

Every aspect of bedrock mining can be customized through an in-game configuration screen (Mod Menu + Cloth Config):

  • Adjustable bedrock hardness
  • Configurable minimum pickaxe tier required to mine bedrock
  • Optional bedrock block drops
  • Changes can be made without editing configuration files manually

Vanilla-Based Mining Formula

Mining speed is calculated using Minecraft's real tool mining speeds:

Pickaxe Mining Speed
Wood 2
Stone 4
Copper 5
Iron 6
Diamond 8
Netherite 9
Gold 12

Efficiency enchantments use their vanilla mining bonuses:

Efficiency Bonus
I +2
II +5
III +10
IV +17
V +26

The Haste effect is also fully supported and further increases mining speed.

Progressive Mining

  • Continuous mining is required
  • The mining process resets if the player stops mining
  • Vanilla-style crack animation is displayed during mining
  • Tool durability is consumed correctly
  • Works in both singleplayer and multiplayer

Default Settings

By default, the mod is configured to preserve game balance:

  • Hardness: 150
  • Minimum Pickaxe: Netherite
  • Bedrock Drops: Disabled

This makes bedrock a late-game resource that still requires significant investment to obtain.

Why Use Bedrock Miner?

Many bedrock-breaking mods either make bedrock trivial to obtain or rely on exploits. Bedrock Miner provides a configurable alternative that feels like a natural extension of Minecraft's progression system.

Whether you want a challenging late-game objective, a custom server economy, or simply more control over survival gameplay, Bedrock Miner lets you decide how bedrock should behave in your world.

Frequently Asked Questions

Bedrock Miner server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Bedrock Miner compatible with fabric?

Bedrock Miner officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Bedrock Miner – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Bedrock Miner consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
