About this Mod
This mod changes and adds a few crafting recipes to be more balanced and practical.
Slabs to blocks - reuse slabs you no longer need
Smelting sand in blast furnaces - smelting Sand and Red Sand into Glass in Blast Furnace
Cooked Carrots - Normal Carrots, but you eat them twice as fast
Craft 6 stairs instead of 4 - crafting stairs in a crafting table will yield the same amount of stairs as if you were using a stonecutter
Use Blackstone and Endstone to craft stone tools
Nether Wart Blocks to Nether Warts
Blasting Netherrack into Nether Bricks
Blasting Raw Metal Blocks into Blocks - smelt Raw Iron, Copper and Gold blocks in a Blast Furnace
Blasting Clay - smelt Clay Blocks into Terracotta Blocks and Clay Balls into Bricks in a Blast Furnace
Blasting Cobblestone - smelt Cobblestone into Stone and Cobbled Deepslate into Deepslate in a Blast Furnace

How to Install Better Crafting on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.4).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Better Crafting". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Better Crafting server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Better Crafting compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge and quilt?
Better Crafting officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.4, 1.21.3, 1.21.2. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Better Crafting – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Better Crafting consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
