Better Locale
Facilitates the usage of other languages that are not English in the game
About this Mod
Do you NOT talk English?
(Previously called Localized Browser)
If you do, I'm sure you have seen things like á, ö or something similar in your language then!
I'm sure you have had the problem of some graphemes (diacritics and the kind) not letting you browse in creative mode or in the recipe book peacefully and forced you to add them so you could find your precious item.
Well, I have a solution for you! And you just need to install this simple mod (NO SCAMS!) and you can search items without a care of the world. Were you trying to search Pistón but you wrote Piston? Then this mod will gladly help you by ignoring the damn ó while trying to search!
If you have any suggestions, please do go to the issue tracker or my Discord server
Features
- Ignore graphemes when using base letter (ex:
ashows everything withátoo) - If you use a grapheme it will only show stuff with that grapheme

Alt+Space(editable keybind) - Extended Japanese IME support (Uses a dictionary which is downloaded when you have your language in Japanese, also supports romaji and hiragana to katakana)
- German letters simplifications (ü to ue, ö to oe, etc)
- An API for developers to use so they can have their mod better support other languages when doing queries

Better Locale server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.5). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Better Locale compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge and quilt?
Better Locale officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.5, 1.21.4, 1.21.3. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Better Locale – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Better Locale consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
