About this Mod

minecraft mod that improves on banner GUI.

Use Mod Menu to configure, or modify minecraft/config/better-looms.json

clicking on colours moves dye into appropriate slot.
clicking on banner pattern automatically completes the pattern, brings the output back into the input slot
clicking on "blank" pattern brings in a blank banner of that colour.
also supports keyboard input - using https://banner-writer.web.app/keylayout.png as the default layout (off by default)
supports creation of banners with 6 or more patterns (disabled by default)

How to Install Better Looms on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.10).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Better Looms". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Better Looms server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.10). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Better Looms compatible with fabric?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Better Looms consumes the most tick time.
