About this Mod

BetterSprint improves Minecraft's sprint toggle by showing status in HUD and persistent state across restarts.

Controls & HUD

Toggle key: defaults to G. Rebind or disable under Options > Controls > Key Binds > Movement > Toggle Sprint (BetterSprint).
Auto sprinting kicks in whenever the forward key is held while the toggle is on.
Open the config screen via Mod Menu > BetterSprint > Configure.

Configuration Options

Every option below is exposed both in Mod Menu and in config/bettersprint.json5 if you prefer manual edits (close the game first for file edits).

showIndicator: toggle the on-screen sprint status.
indicatorX / indicatorY: set horizontal and vertical position.
indicatorScale: adjust indicator size.
indicatorShadow: add a drop shadow for readability.
indicatorBackground: draw a semi-transparent box behind the text.
indicatorBorder: outline the background to make it pop.
reduceFovJitter: fixes FOV jitter camera bug that is present when sprinting&sneaking at the same time.

How to Install BetterSprint on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (26.1.1).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "BetterSprint". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

BetterSprint server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.1.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
