About this Mod
This mod uses a modified version of Fabric (Babric) and is designed only for Better than Adventure, a heavily modified version of Minecraft b1.7.3!

About
Better Than Legacy is a GUI overhaul mod which redesigns the GUIs in BTA to look, act, and feel much more like the GUIs found on the Legacy Console Editions of Minecraft.
With controller support!
Better Than Legacy is also a fully clientside mod, all features work in multiplayer without the server needing the mod installed.

How to Install Better Than Legacy on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set bta-babric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the bta-babric loader and matching Minecraft version (b1.7.3).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Better Than Legacy". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Better Than Legacy server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong bta-babric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (b1.7.3). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Better Than Legacy compatible with bta-babric?
Better Than Legacy officially supports bta-babric for Minecraft b1.7.3. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Better Than Legacy – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Better Than Legacy consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
