About this Mod
Biome Sniffer
A small mod to make the Sniffer's texture change according to the biome they're in.
Showcase
If installed only on the client, Sniffers will change their textures dynamically depending on what biome they're on.
If installed on the server, Sniffers will keep their texture according to the biome they spawned on. (Can be changed on the config)
Resource Pack Support
The mod dynamically changes the green parts of the Sniffer's texture, to the current biome's foliage hue. Any resource packs that keep the contrast between the green parts of the texture and the other parts, should work automatically.

Biome Sniffer server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Biome Sniffer compatible with fabric?
Biome Sniffer officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.20, 23w07a. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Biome Sniffer – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Biome Sniffer consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
