About this Mod
Blip
A fast and easy fuzzy-search item grabber.

About
Blip is a Fabric mod that allows you to quickly put any item in your hand. It is designed to be quick and easy to use and is inspired by the Spotlight system-wide search on macOS and other desktop application launchers.

Here's how it works:
The search is activated by a configurable key binding (default J), which activates a text box. When you type into the text
box, Blip uses your query to search for items. When you press Enter (or return, on Mac), the top result is placed in
your hand. You will be given a single item if in Creative mode. If in Survival mode, the first stack will be moved into
your hand, and whatever was in your hand will move to where the selected item stack was.
You may optionally specify a number before or after the query separated by a space to specify the number of items to put
in your hand. For example, the queries carr 16 or 16 carr would give you 16 carrots.

Questions and Answers
Will there be a Forge version?
Maybe, but I don't have that planned right now. I don't know Forge, but if you do, maybe you could try it!
What versions of Minecraft does Blip run on?
I will generally try to support only the latest release of Minecraft. I will not be testing on snapshots and I will
probably not go out of my way to support older versions of Minecraft. But you won't know until you try!
Why is it called Blip?
Blip is a simple name that is easy to say, and I strive to make Blip simple and easy to use. Also, instead of moving
items from the Creative inventory into your hotbar, they just blip into your hand!
Why is the versioning like that?
Normal semantic versioning follows the pattern MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH, which is useful for developers, but not so much
users. To differentiate major versions of the software, I have changed the pattern slightly tovEDITION-MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH. Edition is for big user-facing upgrades so that major can be updated independently to
indicate non-backward-compatible changes (as it is supposed to).

Blip server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Blip compatible with fabric and quilt?
Blip officially supports fabric, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.8. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Blip – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Blip consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
