BlockRotationLock
Lock the placement axis for Logs, Pillars, Deepslate, Basalt and more!
About this Mod
Block Rotation Lock
Features
This mod lets you lock the placement axis for blocks with the axis property (Logs, Pillars, Deepslate, Basalt, etc.).
Press the lock key (default: H) to set the lock direction. (Targeted block face or view direction if no block is targeted)
While the lock is active, all axis-based blocks you place will be oriented along the locked axis.
This is achieved by modifying the BlockHitResult of your placement action. A server running cheat detection might notice that you're trying to place a block in a way you shouldn't be able to. Use this mod only on servers where you know it's allowed.
I only made this mod because I was using a lot of raw Deepslate for a build and didn't like the fact that it can be placed like logs.

BlockRotationLock server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.10). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is BlockRotationLock compatible with fabric?
BlockRotationLock officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.10. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with BlockRotationLock – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if BlockRotationLock consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
