Welcome to Boiled Witchcraft! A magic mod with a different and original approach, inspired by the acclaimed cartoon The Owl House. It is currently under intensive development, although there is little content, there will still be many, many future content additions!
Actual features
Glyphs on blocks
Right-clicking on blocks with the new Pencil item in hand will make a glyph on the ground, clicking or stepping it will execute the magic. (See the "Applied on block" on the table above.)
Glyphs on papers
You can also create glyphs on papers that you can apply on blocks and use on air to throw a projectile. (See the "Used on paper" on the table above.)
Glyph settings
You can wrap the glyph to use with tab, you can use arrow up/down to configurate the glyph behavior, at the moment, only the magic pillar height. (You can change the keys on keybinds menu.)
Actual glyphs and it's magics
| Glyph | Applied on block | Used on paper |
|---|---|---|
| Ice | Create a 3 blocks tall tower of a magic ice that's very hard and put you on top when step on glyph. | Throw a fireball that put 1 minute of burn on hitted entities. Also create a little explosion when hit a block |
| Fire | Create a 3 blocks tall magic flare that apply burn effect along 1 minute and launch up entities that go inside. | Throw a magic snow ball, put 1 minute of freezing on hitted entities. Also apply on hitted blocks. |
| Light | Create a light bulb above the glyph that's a great light source. | Throw a spark, put 30 seconds of blindness on hitted entities. |
| Plant | Create a 3 blocks tall magic plant that stuck entities that touch and it's very hard to break. | Throw a magic flower, put 30 seconds of poisoning on hitted entities. Also apply on hitted blocks. |
Sneak peak of the next version
One of the main things that needs to be added to the mode is a spell cost system, only then would it be viable as a mod that you would actually play in survival mode, in the show that the mod was inspired by, the magic comes from titan blood, and so it will be here too, you will have to find crystals of diluted titan blood, you will have to extract, distill and spray it in the air, so that the glyphs can absorb the magic from the air. (This doesn't rule out the baby titan idea mentioned below, this will be implemented in the future, I'm still learning how to develop mods and it's outside my skillbound at the moment)
I want to transform the project into a technical magic mod, something like botania or thaumcraft, with several automation and progression systems, as this style of mod is my favorite and I think it is a little lacking in modern versions.
Planned features
- Titan blood consumption system.
- Large glyphs.
- Glyp combinations.
- Baby titant to take care of and increase the magic power.
- Palismans.
- Witchlike magic.

Boiled Witchcraft server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.19.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Boiled Witchcraft compatible with forge?
Boiled Witchcraft officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.19.4. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Boiled Witchcraft – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Boiled Witchcraft consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
