Boring Spawn Chunks
Boring Spawn Chunks is a mod that backports the spawnChunkRadius game rule from Minecraft 1.20.5.
It not only does that, but also backports the default value so that spawn chunks occupies a 3x3 area instead of a 19x19 one and also backports the visual changes to the world loading screen so that the classic square also dynamically changes size depending of the setting!
If the complete removal of spawn chunks is desired, a default game rule changer (like the sibling mod Boring Default Game Rules) is needed in order to set the default value to 0. This approach will continue working even with Minecraft 1.20.5's game rule after all!
Dependencies
This mod requires the Quilt Loader and the Quilt Standard Libraries to be installed.

How to Install Boring Spawn Chunks on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set quilt Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the quilt loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.4).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Boring Spawn Chunks". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.
