Bottled Omen
Bottled Omen backports Minecraft 1.21’s raid trigger mechanics to Forge 1.20.1: Pillager Captains drop an Ominous Bottle instead of applying Bad Omen automatically, letting players choose when to drink it and start a raid.
About this Mod
Bottled Omen
brings Minecraft 1.21’s raid-trigger mechanics to Forge 1.20.1 in a vanilla-faithful way. In 1.20.1, killing a Pillager Captain automatically applies Bad Omen; this mod fully removes that behavior and instead makes Captains drop an Ominous Bottle with a 100% drop rate, without replacing any normal drops (the banner and vanilla loot still drop as usual).
The Ominous Bottle is a drinkable item (with vanilla drinking animation and sound) that applies Bad Omen I–V for 120000 ticks (100 minutes), matching modern vanilla. Players gain full control over when to activate raids: drink the bottle when you’re ready, then entering a village starts the modern flow (Bad Omen → Raid Omen (30s) → Raid start). During the 30-second window, the process can be cancelled normally (e.g., with milk). The mod uses the vanilla raid system for spawning, waves, and difficulty scaling, ensuring broad compatibility with Forge 1.20.1 and other mods.
