Bura
Bura is an alpha Fabric performance mod that reduces lag spikes and improves FPS stability by optimizing chunk compilation, upload scheduling, and visibility culling in singleplayer.
About this Mod
Bura
Version: Alpha 0.2.0
Minecraft: 1.21.11
Loader: Fabric
Bura is an experimental performance mod focused on improving FPS consistency and reducing rendering-related CPU spikes. It currently targets chunk scheduling, upload pacing, and visibility work, with a strong focus on lower-end and CPU-limited systems.
Performance Snapshot
Tested on Intel Core i3-10100F @ 3.60GHz against Vanilla Fabric under the same settings and world conditions.

| Metric | Vanilla Fabric | Bura Alpha 0.2.0 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peak FPS | 140 | 297 | +112% |
| Average Frame Time | 7 ms | 4 ms | -42% |
| CPU Usage (Process) | 51.6% | 25.4% | -50% |
| 95th Percentile MSPT | 2.96 ms | 2.28 ms | -23% |
What Bura Optimizes
Chunk compilation scheduling
Bura reduces frame spikes caused by chunk rebuild bursts by spreading expensive work more intelligently.
Chunk upload pacing
GPU upload work is distributed across frames to avoid sudden stutter from large render updates.
Visibility culling
Bura reduces unnecessary rendering work by avoiding repeated processing for geometry that is not visible.
Compatibility
Bura is designed to work alongside other optimization mods and focuses primarily on frame pacing and workload scheduling.
Tested combinations:
- Sodium
- Iris
- ImmediatelyFast
- Entity Culling
- Lithium
- FerriteCore
Known Limitations
- Aggressive culling may still cause occasional chunk flicker or ghosting.
- Alpha build: behavior may change between versions.
- Some particle or rendering mods may require compatibility fixes.
Roadmap
- Reduce memory usage and heap allocation rate to lower gc stutter
- Improve chunk loading behavior at high movement speeds
- Reduce flicker from aggressive visibility culling
- Expand compatibility with more rendering mods

Bura server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Bura compatible with fabric?
Bura officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Bura – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Bura consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
