Datapack for Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.6

Cauldron Brewing

Allows you to brew all potions using a cauldron instead of a brewing stand.
Currently only available for 1.20.6

Usage

A set of cauldrons for all supported heat sources.
Place a cauldron over a heat source. (e.g. Fire, Campfire, Magma)

Drop any ingredient you would use in a brewing stand in the water.

A Cauldron in a witches hut containing a strength potion.
Hold a bottle in your hand to see what the cauldron contains.

Use a bottle on the cauldron to fill it with the potion.

Installation

  1. Drop "CauldronBrewing(resourcepack)" in your resourcepack folder
  2. Drop "CauldronBrewing(datapack)" in your worlds datapacks folder

How to Install Cauldron Brewing on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set datapack Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.6).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Cauldron Brewing". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Cauldron Brewing server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.6). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Cauldron Brewing consumes the most tick time.
